So this is not a child friendly post. I mean if you have children you may feel like you NEED this post (I know I do) but this is a very it doesn’t really matter if you have kids or not, cook with or without kids post. (I mean really, most of the things I put on this blog should be able to be enjoyed by everyone anyway)
For my husband’s birthday, as per tradition that my sister started at my parent’s 55th birthday, I created a signature drink, or, The “Will”. I wanted it to be whimsical and fun, with a bit of an edge, and would make you feel fantastic (and make you seem hilarious after 1 or 2).
This drink takes a bit of planning as I used infused vodka, but man, was it worth the wait.
This is what you’ll need;
1 bottle of vodka, don’t use bad vodka, just don’t. We used Grey Goose.
3 lemongrass stalks
2 tbsp fresh ginger roughly chopped
6 whole peppercorns
Put all of these items in a container or sealable jar. (I prefer glass and I prefer a limoncello type resealable bottle). Let these items sit and ferment in a dark room for at least a month. Taste. Next, put in your fridge to chill (really really easy right?)
Okay, now let’s build The Will.
Mix up lemonade. Our first batch we used fresh lemonade that I made using lemons, water and sugar. Easy peasy. If you want to know how to make lemonade…let me know, I’ll comment on it. Otherwise, keep moving.
Add 1 shot of infused vodka over ice, mix in 3 shots of lemonade (stir as you add it). Garnish with fresh ginger and lemon thyme. Yay!
So easy, so delicious AND – it goes down so easy that after the second one you do get a little silly.
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday to Will!!! I loved the infused vodka that we has with the root beer! This one sounds very tasty!!!
Wow, know what I am going to request!
