Traveling with Zara: Black & White Cookies

Growing up outside of NYC I was surrounded by amazing ethnic food on a more regular basis than I now have as an adult (unless I cook it myself).
One of the items that I think about, nay, dream about is black & white cookies. Now I know you can get these cookies anywhere BUT they are not the same. Trust me, you have not truly experienced a real black & white cookie until you’ve had one from the New York area, even better, from Cait and Abbey’s bakery in South Orange, NJ. They are thick cookies, the size of your hand covered in glazed icing that is sweet but not too sweet. If you swipe your finger across it it comes across with the consistency of a glazed donut, with a cakey cookie base. Amazing. These are the two I’m bringing home with me. You should try one, a REAL one.
